Rhus verniciflua Stokes (RVS) es una medicina herbal rica en flavonoides que se ha utilizado durante mucho tiempo en Corea como aditivo alimentario y agente antitumoral. Anteriormente se inform\u00f3 que una fracci\u00f3n flavonoide purificada preparada a partir de RVS, en este documento denominada RCMF (la fracci\u00f3n de cloroformo-metanol RVS), inhibi\u00f3 la proliferaci\u00f3n e indujo la apoptosis en c\u00e9lulas de osteosarcoma humano (HOS).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>OBJETIVO: Este estudio examin\u00f3 los mecanismos implicados en la apoptosis mediada por RCMF en c\u00e9lulas HOS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RESULTADOS: Se demostr\u00f3 que RCMF es capaz de inducir apoptosis en c\u00e9lulas HOS al inducir p53 en las c\u00e9lulas, lo que resulta en la disminuci\u00f3n del nivel de Bcl-2, la activaci\u00f3n de Bax y la liberaci\u00f3n citoplasm\u00e1tica del citocromo c, lo que condujo a la translocaci\u00f3n del factor inductor de apoptosis ( AIF) y endonucleasa G (EndoG) en el n\u00facleo. Sin embargo, la apoptosis inducida por RCMF se suprimi\u00f3 al transfectar las c\u00e9lulas con oligonucle\u00f3tidos antisentido p53 pero no al tratarlas con un MAPK o un inhibidor de caspasa.
