La curcumina es un compuesto anticancer\u00edgeno ampliamente estudiado, sin embargo, su papel en el metabolismo del c\u00e1ncer sigue siendo poco conocido.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed, mostramos que la curcumina inhibe la absorci\u00f3n de glucosa y la producci\u00f3n de lactato (efecto Warburg) en una variedad de l\u00edneas celulares de c\u00e1ncer mediante la regulaci\u00f3n negativa de la expresi\u00f3n de PKM2, mediante la inhibici\u00f3n del eje mTOR-HIF1\u03b1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>El silenciamiento estable de PKM2 revel\u00f3 que PKM2 es necesario para el efecto Warburg y la proliferaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas cancerosas.
