(2011).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S1383571811000180\">Role of quercetin on mitomycin C induced genotoxicity: analysis of micronucleus and chromosome aberrations in vivo.<\/a>\u00a0<i>Mutation Research\/Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis<\/i>, 721(2), 147-152.<\/p>\n<p>La quercetina, un grupo de flavonol de flavonoides vegetales, ha generado un gran inter\u00e9s debido a sus propiedades antioxidantes, antiproliferativas, quimioprotectoras, antiinflamatorias y moduladoras de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica. Sin embargo, la qu\u00edmica prooxidante de la quercetina es importante ya que est\u00e1 relacionada con la generaci\u00f3n de metabolitos mutag\u00e9nicos de tipo quinona.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>En el presente estudio, 25 mg \/ kg, 50 mg \/ kg y 100 mg \/ kg de quercetina administrada por v\u00eda intraperitoneal (ip) indujeron 2,31 \u00b1 0,27%, 4,72 \u00b1 0,58% y 6,38 \u00b1 0,68% (valor de control = 0,67 \u00b1 0,30% ) respectivamente, de c\u00e9lulas con micron\u00facleos (MN) en eritrocitos policrom\u00e1ticos en c\u00e9lulas de m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea y 10.93 \u00b1 0.98%, 10.00 \u00b1 0.89% y 14.27 \u00b1 3.94% (control 2.61 \u00b1 0.48) de c\u00e9lulas con aberraciones cromos\u00f3micas (CA) despu\u00e9s de 24 h tratos. Tambi\u00e9n se observaron frecuencias m\u00e1s altas de MN y CA despu\u00e9s de 48 h de los tratamientos.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Para verificar el efecto de la ruta de tratamiento sobre el da\u00f1o inducido por quercetina, se administraron 100 mg \/ kg de peso corporal por v\u00eda oral que disminuy\u00f3 la frecuencia de MN (P &lt;0.001) y CA (P &lt;0.05) en comparaci\u00f3n con la ruta ip para misma dosis\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>La quercetina tambi\u00e9n indujo una mayor frecuencia de metafases con cromosomas pegajosos y mitosis C. El pretratamiento con quercetina redujo significativamente la frecuencia de MN inducida por mitomicina C (MMC) y CA, pero no se pudo observar una correlaci\u00f3n clara entre la dosis y el efecto. Se requieren m\u00e1s estudios para dilucidar la posible interacci\u00f3n de la quercetina con el ADN, as\u00ed como con otros agentes que da\u00f1an el ADN, como MMC in vivo. La acci\u00f3n protectora de la quercetina no aument\u00f3 cuando se administr\u00f3 por v\u00eda oral.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nuestros hallazgos sugieren que la quercetina puede provocar inestabilidad gen\u00f3mica en el rango de dosis probado y una reducci\u00f3n significativa en la genotoxicidad inducida por MMC en la dosis m\u00e1s alta probada.
