(2012).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0955286310002676\">Short-and long-term exposure of articular cartilage to curcumin or quercetin inhibits aggrecan loss<\/a>.\u00a0<i>The Journal of nutritional biochemistry,<\/i>\u00a023(2), 106-112.<\/p>\n<p>OBJETIVO: El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar si la curcumina y la quercetina inhiben la p\u00e9rdida de agregado inducida por los explantes de cart\u00edlago articular bovino dado que se ha demostrado que estos polifenoles suprimen la expresi\u00f3n de enzimas que degradan la matriz.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>M\u00c9TODO: Se estudi\u00f3 la cin\u00e9tica de la p\u00e9rdida de 35 S-agregado y la p\u00e9rdida de agregado total en los explantes de cart\u00edlago mantenidos en medio catab\u00f3lico que conten\u00eda \u00e1cido retinoico 1 \u03bcM o interleucina (IL) -1\u03b1 50 ng \/ ml en presencia de 1 a 25 \u03bcM curcumina o quercetina 10\u201350 \u03bcM. La reversibilidad del catabolismo de 35El S-agrecano tambi\u00e9n se estudi\u00f3 en cultivos estimulados catab\u00f3licamente tratados con curcumina 25 \u03bcM o quercetina 50 \u03bcM durante los primeros 4-5 d\u00edas de cultivo, seguidos de 10-15 d\u00edas de cultivo en medio catab\u00f3lico en ausencia de polifenoles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RESULTADOS: La curcumina y la quercetina suprimieron la p\u00e9rdida de 35 S-agrecano y el agregado total de los explantes de una manera dependiente de la dosis. Cuando la exposici\u00f3n de los explantes a la curcumina o la quercetina se limit\u00f3 a los primeros 4 a 5 d\u00edas de cultivo, la supresi\u00f3n de 35S-agrecano se mantuvo en el per\u00edodo de cultivo extendido cuando el tejido se estimul\u00f3 con \u00e1cido retinoico o IL-1\u03b1. La quercetina suprimi\u00f3 la expresi\u00f3n estimulada por IL-1\u03b1 de una desintegrina y metaloproteinasa con motivos de trombospondina (ADAMTS) -4. La curcumina suprimi\u00f3 la expresi\u00f3n de ADAMTS-5 estimulada por \u00e1cido retinoico, y ambos polifenoles suprimieron la expresi\u00f3n basal de ADAMTS-5.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CONCLUSI\u00d3N: La capacidad de la curcumina y la quercetina para proteger el cart\u00edlago de la p\u00e9rdida de agregado estimulada y para mantener esta protecci\u00f3n despu\u00e9s del tratamiento puede, al menos en parte, deberse a la supresi\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de ADAMTS-4 y -5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lay, E., Samiric, T., Handley, C.
