La angiotensina II (AngII) induce atrofia muscular. La angiotensina- (1-7) [Ang- (1-7)], a trav\u00e9s de su receptor Mas, produce los efectos opuestos que la AngII.<\/p>\n<p>Evaluamos los efectos de Ang- (1-7) sobre la atrofia del m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico inducida por AngII.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestros resultados muestran que Ang- (1-7), a trav\u00e9s de Mas, previene los efectos inducidos por AngII en el gastrocnemio muscular: la disminuci\u00f3n del di\u00e1metro de la fibra, la fuerza muscular y los niveles de MHC y el aumento de atrogin-1 y MuRF-1. Ang- (1-7) tambi\u00e9n induce la fosforilaci\u00f3n de AKT.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, nuestro an\u00e1lisis in vitro utilizando miotubos C2C12 muestra que Ang- (1-7), a trav\u00e9s de un mecanismo dependiente de Mas, evita la disminuci\u00f3n de los niveles de MHC y el aumento de la expresi\u00f3n de atrogin-1 y MuRF-1, ambos inducidos por AngII. Ang- (1-7) induce la fosforilaci\u00f3n de AKT en miotubos; Adem\u00e1s, demostramos que la inhibici\u00f3n de AKT con MK-2206 disminuye los efectos antiatroficos de Ang- (1-7).
