Las entidades de prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer a base de frutas, como el flavonoide y sus derivados, han demostrado una capacidad marcada para inhibir modelos precl\u00ednicos de crecimiento de c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer epitelial y formaci\u00f3n de tumores. Aqu\u00ed, ampliamos el papel de la quimioprevenci\u00f3n mediada por naringina al de carcinog\u00e9nesis cervical.<\/p>\n<p>OBJETIVO: El presente estudio busc\u00f3 investigar el efecto potencial terap\u00e9utico de naringina sobre la apoptosis en las c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de SiHa cervical humano.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00c9TODO: La viabilidad de las c\u00e9lulas SiHa se evalu\u00f3 mediante el ensayo MTT, la apoptosis y el potencial transmembrana mitocondrial mediante citometr\u00eda de flujo y los genes relacionados con la apoptosis mediante PCR cuantitativa en tiempo real.<\/p>\n<p>RESULTADOS: Naringina mostr\u00f3 una inhibici\u00f3n del 50% de las c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de cuello uterino humano SiHa a una concentraci\u00f3n de 750 \u03bcM. Las c\u00e9lulas SiHa exhibieron muerte celular apopt\u00f3tica, fragmentaci\u00f3n intranucleos\u00f3mica del ADN, cambios morfol\u00f3gicos y disminuci\u00f3n del potencial transmembrana mitocondrial. Adem\u00e1s, la administraci\u00f3n de naringina aument\u00f3 la expresi\u00f3n de caspasas, p53 y Bax, el receptor de muerte Fas y su prote\u00edna adaptadora FADD.<\/p>\n<p>CONCLUSI\u00d3N: Estos resultados sugieren que la inducci\u00f3n de apoptosis por naringina es a trav\u00e9s de v\u00edas mitocondriales y de receptores de muerte.
