Los flavonoides en la dieta ejercen posibles efectos beneficiosos sobre la funci\u00f3n endotelial en ensayos a corto plazo; Sin embargo, la relaci\u00f3n entre la ingesta habitual y el riesgo de infarto de miocardio en mujeres desconocidas.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00c9TODOS Y RESULTADOS: Seguimos a 93,600 mujeres de 25 a 42 a\u00f1os del Estudio de Salud de Enfermeras (NHS) II que estaban sanas al inicio (1989) para examinar la relaci\u00f3n entre las antocianinas y otros flavonoides y el riesgo de infarto de miocardio. La ingesta de subclases de flavonoides se calcul\u00f3 a partir de cuestionarios validados de frecuencia alimentaria recogidos cada 4 a\u00f1os utilizando una base de datos actualizada y ampliada del USDA. Durante 18 a\u00f1os de seguimiento, se informaron 405 casos de IM. Se observ\u00f3 una asociaci\u00f3n inversa entre la mayor ingesta de antocianinas y el riesgo de infarto de miocardio (Hazard Ratio [HR]: 0,68; intervalo de confianza [IC] del 95%: 0,49\u20130,96; p = 0,03 comparando quintiles m\u00e1s altos versus m\u00e1s bajos) despu\u00e9s del ajuste multivariante. La adici\u00f3n de condiciones intermedias, incluido el historial de hipertensi\u00f3n, no atenu\u00f3 significativamente la relaci\u00f3n (HR 0,70; 0,50-0,97; p = 0,03). La ingesta combinada de dos alimentos ricos en antocianinas, los ar\u00e1ndanos y las fresas, tendi\u00f3 a asociarse con una disminuci\u00f3n del riesgo de infarto de miocardio (HR 0,66; 0,40\u20131,08) comparando los que consumieron&gt; 3 porciones \/ semana con los de menor ingesta. La ingesta de otras subclases de flavonoides no se asoci\u00f3 significativamente con el riesgo de infarto de miocardio.<\/p>\n<p>CONCLUSIONES: Una alta ingesta de antocianinas puede reducir el riesgo de infarto de miocardio en mujeres predominantemente j\u00f3venes.
