El aumento de la permeabilidad de la membrana mitocondrial interna es un fen\u00f3meno clave en la muerte celular. Los cambios en la permeabilidad de la membrana resultan de la apertura del poro de transici\u00f3n de permeabilidad mitocondrial (mPTP), un canal de conductancia grande que se forma despu\u00e9s de la sobrecarga de mitocondrias con Ca 2+o en respuesta al estr\u00e9s oxidativo. La astaxantina, un carotenoide, (AST) es un potente antioxidante que es capaz de mantener la integridad de las mitocondrias al prevenir el estr\u00e9s oxidativo.<\/p>\n<p>En el presente trabajo, se estudi\u00f3 el efecto de AST en el funcionamiento de mPTP. Se descubri\u00f3 que AST pod\u00eda inhibir la apertura de mPTP, ralentizando la hinchaz\u00f3n de las mitocondrias mediante la adici\u00f3n directa a las mitocondrias y la administraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El tratamiento con AST cambi\u00f3 el nivel de prote\u00ednas reguladoras de mPTP en mitocondrias de coraz\u00f3n de rata aisladas. En consecuencia, AST puede proteger a las mitocondrias de los cambios en la permeabilidad inducida de la membrana interna. AST inhibi\u00f3 las v\u00edas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna de uni\u00f3n a elementos (CREB) sensible a la serina \/ treonina prote\u00edna quinasa B (Akt) \/ cAMP en las mitocondrias, lo que condujo a la prevenci\u00f3n de la apertura de mPTP.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que la AST mejora la resistencia de las mitocondrias del coraz\u00f3n de las ratas al estr\u00e9s dependiente del Ca2+, se puede suponer que, despu\u00e9s de realizar m\u00e1s estudios, este antioxidante se considerar\u00e1 una herramienta eficaz para mejorar el funcionamiento del m\u00fasculo card\u00edaco en general en condiciones normales y m\u00e9dicas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baburina, Y., Krestinin, R., Odinokova, I., Sotnikova, L., Kruglov, A., &amp; Krestinina, O.
