MAX study<\/a>.\u00a0<i>Cancer detection and prevention<\/i>, 25(5), 479-485.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio \u00abSupplementation en Vitamines et Min\u00e9raux AntioXidants\u00bb (SU.VI.MAX) es un ensayo aleatorizado, doble ciego, controlado con placebo y de prevenci\u00f3n primaria dise\u00f1ado para probar la eficacia de una suplementaci\u00f3n diaria con vitaminas antioxidantes (vitamina C, 120 mg; vitamina E, 30 mg; y betacaroteno, 6 mg) y minerales (selenio, 100 microg; y zinc, 20 mg) en dosis nutricionales (de una a tres veces la ingesta diaria recomendada), para reducir la frecuencia de c\u00e1nceres y enfermedades cardiovasculares.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio incluye a 12.735 sujetos elegibles (mujeres de 35 a 60 a\u00f1os, hombres de 45 a 60 a\u00f1os) incluidos en 1994 en Francia. Se les har\u00e1 un seguimiento durante 8 a\u00f1os. La poblaci\u00f3n objetivo es la poblaci\u00f3n en general.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo de este an\u00e1lisis espec\u00edfico es evaluar el efecto de 2 a\u00f1os de suplementaci\u00f3n sobre los indicadores bioqu\u00edmicos de vitaminas y oligoelementos en una submuestra de 1000 sujetos.<\/p>\n<p>La media (+\/- desviaci\u00f3n est\u00e1ndar) de las concentraciones plasm\u00e1ticas de betacaroteno, alfa-tocoferol, vitamina C, selenio y zinc entre los participantes que fueron asignados al azar para recibir un suplemento diario con betacaroteno, vitamina E, vitamina C, selenio y el zinc durante 2 a\u00f1os fue significativamente m\u00e1s alto que aquellos que fueron asignados a recibir placebo. Espec\u00edficamente, las concentraciones medias entre los hombres del grupo de intervenci\u00f3n fueron 0,86 +\/- 0,70 micromol \/ L para betacaroteno, 35,3 +\/- 9,3 micromol \/ L para alfa-tocoferol, 11,5 +\/- 4,7 microg \/ ml para vitamina C, 1,65 +\/- 0,33 micromol \/ L para selenio y 16,2 +\/- 3,9 micromol \/ L para zinc.<\/p>\n<p>Las concentraciones medias entre las mujeres en la intervenci\u00f3n fueron 1,25 +\/- 0,90 micromol \/ L para betacaroteno, 34,9 +\/- 8,4 micromol \/ L para alfa-tocoferol, 12,6 +\/- 4,0 microg \/ ml para vitamina C, 1,68 + \/ &#8211; 0.37 micromol \/ L para selenio y 15.3 +\/- 3.9 micromol \/ L para zinc. Los valores observados para betacaroteno y vitamina E en el grupo de suplementaci\u00f3n despu\u00e9s de 2 a\u00f1os de intervenci\u00f3n son los que se han asociado con el menor riesgo de c\u00e1ncer en estudios observacionales.<\/p>\n<p>Definitivamente son m\u00e1s bajas que las concentraciones informadas en los estudios de intervenci\u00f3n que muestran un efecto negativo aparente de los altos niveles de suplementos de betacaroteno sobre la tasa de incidencia de c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n en sujetos de alto riesgo (nivel inicial multiplicado por 12-18).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malvy, D.
