(2001).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/neuroreport\/Abstract\/2001\/12040\/Tissue_distribution_and_neuroprotective_effects_of.53.aspx\">Tissue distribution and neuroprotective effects of citrus flavonoid tangeretin in a rat model of Parkinson&#8217;s disease<\/a>.\u00a0<i>Neuroreport<\/i>, 12(17), 3871-3875.<\/p>\n<p>Los efectos neuroprotectores de un antioxidante natural tangeretina , un flavonoide c\u00edtrico , se aclararon en el modelo de rata con lesi\u00f3n de 6-hidroxidopamina (6-OHDA) de la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP), despu\u00e9s de estudios de biodisponibilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de la administraci\u00f3n oral cr\u00f3nica (10 mg \/ kg \/ d\u00eda durante 28 d\u00edas), niveles significativos de tangeretinase detectaron en el hipot\u00e1lamo, el estriado y el hipocampo (3,88, 2,36 y 2,00 ng \/ mg, respectivamente). Los niveles en el h\u00edgado y el plasma fueron de 0,59 ng \/ mg y 0,11 ng \/ ml respectivamente. La infusi\u00f3n unilateral de la neurotoxina dopamin\u00e9rgica, 6-hidroxidopamina (6-OHDA; 8 \u03bcg), en el haz del prosenc\u00e9falo medial redujo significativamente el n\u00famero de c\u00e9lulas tirosina hidroxilasa positivas (TH +) en la sustancia negra y disminuy\u00f3 el contenido de dopamina estriatal en las ratas tratadas con veh\u00edculo.<\/p>\n<p>El tratamiento subcr\u00f3nico de las ratas con altas dosis de tangeretina (20 mg \/ kg \/ d\u00eda durante 4 d\u00edas; po) antes de la lesi\u00f3n de 6-OHDA redujo notablemente la p\u00e9rdida de c\u00e9lulas TH + y el contenido de dopamina estriatal. Estos estudios, por primera vez, evidencian que la tangeretina cruza la barrera hematoencef\u00e1lica.
