(lemon balm) extract on neurogenesis associated with serum corticosterone and GABA in the mouse dentate gyrus<\/a>.\u00a0<i>Neurochem Res<\/i>\u00a02011, 36:250\u2013257.<\/p>\n<p>Las hojas de Melissa officinalis L., se ha utilizado contra la ansiedad y los espasmol\u00edticos.<\/p>\n<p>Observamos el extracto de Melissa officinalis L. (MOE) sobre la proliferaci\u00f3n celular y la diferenciaci\u00f3n de neuroblastos en la circunvoluci\u00f3n dentada del hipocampo (DG) de ratones de mediana edad (12 meses de edad) utilizando Ki67 y doblecortina (DCX), respectivamente. Tambi\u00e9n observamos cambios en la corticosterona, GAD67 y GABA-transaminasa (GABA-T) para comprobar sus posibles mecanismos relacionados con la neurog\u00e9nesis.<\/p>\n<p>Administramos 50 o 200 mg \/ kg de MOE a los animales una vez al d\u00eda durante 3 semanas. Para marcar las c\u00e9lulas reci\u00e9n generadas, tambi\u00e9n administramos 5-bromodesoxiuridina (BrdU) dos veces al d\u00eda durante 3 d\u00edas a partir del d\u00eda del primer tratamiento con MOE.<\/p>\n<p>La administraci\u00f3n de 50 o 200 mg \/ kg de MOE aument\u00f3 de forma dependiente de la dosis los n\u00facleos positivos para Ki67 a 244,1 y 763,9% del grupo tratado con veh\u00edculo, respectivamente. Adem\u00e1s, 50 o 200 mg \/ kg de MOE aumentaron significativamente los neuroblastos positivos para DCX con dendritas bien desarrolladas (terciarias). Adem\u00e1s, la administraci\u00f3n de MOE aument\u00f3 significativamente las c\u00e9lulas doble marcadas con BrdU \/ calbindina D-28 k (neuronas integradas en c\u00e9lulas granulares en el DG) hasta un 245,2% del grupo tratado con veh\u00edculo. Por otro lado, la administraci\u00f3n de MOE redujo los niveles de corticosterona en suero y disminuy\u00f3 los niveles de GABA-T en los homogeneizados de DG.<\/p>\n<p>CONCLUSION: Estos resultados sugieren que MOE aumenta la proliferaci\u00f3n celular, la diferenciaci\u00f3n de neuroblastos y la integraci\u00f3n en c\u00e9lulas granulares al disminuir los niveles de corticosterona en suero as\u00ed como al aumentar los niveles de GABA en el DG de rat\u00f3n.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yoo DY, Choi JH, Kim W, Yoo KY, Lee CH, Yoon YS, Won MH, Hwang IK:\u00a0Effects of Melissa officinalis L.
