(1992). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/07315724.1992.12098233\">Effect of a diet high in monounsaturated fat from almonds on plasma cholesterol and lipoproteins<\/a>.<i>\u00a0Journal of the American College of Nutrition<\/i>, 11(2), 126-130.<\/p>\n<p>OBJETIVO: Se estudi\u00f3 el efecto de las almendras como parte de una dieta baja en grasas saturadas, baja en colesterol y alta en fibra en 26 adultos (13 hombres, 13 mujeres).<\/p>\n<p>METODOLOGIA: La dieta de referencia se modific\u00f3 de manera similar para todos los sujetos al limitar la carne, el pescado graso, los productos l\u00e1cteos con alto contenido de grasa, los huevos y las grasas saturadas. Los cereales, frijoles, verduras, frutas y productos l\u00e1cteos bajos en grasa eran la base de la dieta. Durante el per\u00edodo de la dieta de las almendras, las almendras crudas (100 mg \/ d\u00eda) suministraron 34 g \/ d\u00eda de \u00e1cidos grasos monoinsaturados (MUFA), 12 g \/ d\u00eda de \u00e1cidos grasos poliinsaturados y 6 g \/ d\u00eda de \u00e1cidos grasos saturados. El aceite de almendras era el \u00fanico aceite permitido para la preparaci\u00f3n de alimentos.<\/p>\n<p>RESULTADOS: Hubo una reducci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida y sostenida del colesterol unido a lipoprote\u00ednas de baja densidad sin cambios en el colesterol unido a lipoprote\u00ednas de alta densidad. Esto se reflej\u00f3 en una disminuci\u00f3n del colesterol plasm\u00e1tico total de (media \u00b1 SEM) 235 \u00b1 5,0 al inicio del estudio a 215 \u00b1 5,0 a las 3 semanas y a 214 \u00b1 5,0 mg \/ dl a las 9 semanas (p&gt; 0,001).<\/p>\n<p>CONCLUSIONES: Cuando el consumo de frutos secos con alto contenido de MUFA aumenta el contenido de grasa de la dieta, se debe esperar una reducci\u00f3n en lugar de un aumento del colesterol plasm\u00e1tico, posiblemente debido al contenido de MUFA de estos frutos secos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spiller, G.
