(2012). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3425023\/\">Aged garlic extract and coenzyme Q10 have favorable effect on inflammatory markers and coronary atherosclerosis progression: A randomized clinical trial<\/a>.\u00a0<i>Journal of cardiovascular disease research<\/i>, 3(3), 185-190.<\/p>\n<p>ANTECEDENTES: Se ha demostrado que el extracto de ajo envejecido (AGE) y la coenzima Q10 (CoQ10) afectan m\u00faltiples factores de riesgo cardiovascular.<\/p>\n<p>OBJETIVO: El estudio actual eval\u00faa el efecto de AGE combinado con CoQ10 sobre los marcadores inflamatorios y la progresi\u00f3n de la aterosclerosis coronaria en comparaci\u00f3n con el placebo.<\/p>\n<p>METODOS Y RESULTADOS: : En este ensayo aleatorizado, doble ciego y controlado con placebo, 65 bomberos de riesgo intermedio (edad 55 \u00b1 6 a\u00f1os) fueron tratados con una c\u00e1psula de placebo o una c\u00e1psula que conten\u00eda AGE y CoQ10 (AGE + CoQ10, 1200 y 120 mg, respectivamente) diariamente. por 1 a\u00f1o. Todos los participantes se sometieron a una exploraci\u00f3n de calcio en las arterias coronarias (CAC) y prote\u00edna C reactiva (PCR) al inicio del estudio y a los 12 meses. Al a\u00f1o, la progresi\u00f3n media de CAC fue significativamente menor en AGE + CoQ10 (32 \u00b1 6 vs.58 \u00b1 8, P = 0.01) que en placebo. De manera similar, la PCR disminuy\u00f3 significativamente en AGE + CoQ10 en comparaci\u00f3n con el placebo (-0,12 \u00b1 0,24 frente a 0,91 \u00b1 0,56 mg \/ L, P &lt;0,05).
