(2006). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S009042950501126X\">Food groups and risk of benign prostatic hyperplasia<\/a>.\u00a0<i>Urology<\/i>,\u00a0<i>67<\/i>(1), 73-79.<\/p>\n<div id=\"aep-abstract-sec-id12\">\n<p><span>OBJETIVOS: Para evaluar el papel de una amplia gama de alimentos en el riesgo de hiperplasia prost\u00e1tica benigna (HPB), llevamos a cabo un estudio de casos y controles en Italia entre 1991 y 2002. Aunque la HPB es una condici\u00f3n extremadamente com\u00fan, particularmente entre los hombres mayores, su riesgo los factores, incluidos los diet\u00e9ticos, siguen sin definirse en gran medida.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"aep-abstract-sec-id13\">\n<p><span>METODOS: Se incluyeron en el estudio 1369 pacientes menores de 75 a\u00f1os tratados quir\u00fargicamente por HBP y 1451 controles menores de 75 a\u00f1os que hab\u00edan ingresado en los mismos hospitales como casos por un amplio espectro de afecciones agudas no neopl\u00e1sicas. Se utiliz\u00f3 un cuestionario de frecuencia de alimentos validado y reproducible, que inclu\u00eda 78 alimentos y bebidas, m\u00e1s una secci\u00f3n separada sobre bebidas alcoh\u00f3licas, para evaluar los h\u00e1bitos diet\u00e9ticos de los pacientes 2 a\u00f1os antes del diagn\u00f3stico o la admisi\u00f3n al hospital. Se obtuvieron razones de probabilidad (OR) multivariadas despu\u00e9s de tener en cuenta la ingesta de energ\u00eda y otros factores de confusi\u00f3n potenciales importantes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"aep-abstract-sec-id14\">\n<p><span>RESULTADOS: Se encontr\u00f3 una tendencia significativa de aumento del riesgo con un consumo m\u00e1s frecuente de cereales (OR 1,55 para el quintil mayor frente al quintil m\u00e1s bajo), pan (OR 1,69), huevos (OR 1,43) y aves (OR 1,39). Se observaron asociaciones inversas para sopas (OR 0,74), legumbres (OR 0,74), verduras cocidas (OR 0,66) y c\u00edtricos (OR 0,82). No se observ\u00f3 asociaci\u00f3n para productos de leche y yogur, caf\u00e9 y t\u00e9, pasta y arroz, pescado, queso, verduras, papas, frutas o postres.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"aep-abstract-sec-id15\">\n<p><span>RESULTADOS: Los resultados de este estudio sugieren un papel de los h\u00e1bitos diet\u00e9ticos en el riesgo de BPH.
